St. Mark Lutheran Church is a vibrant, multigenerational congregation on the east side of
We are delighted that you have chosen to visit our web site and learn more about our exciting ministries. As you view the various links, we hope you will gain a positive sense of our enthusiasm and passion for "Growing in Faith, Sharing God's Grace."
We are confident that you will find numerous opportunities to participate in the life of our congregation and to experience God's unconditional love, forgiveness, and grace.
St. Mark has a strong emphasis on worship, music, youth, education, spiritual formation, and service to others - key characteristics of a healthy, growing church. As we seek to expand each of these areas of ministry, we invite you to join us in our celebration of the Christian life.
Carefully examine the many descriptions of our ministries and prayerfully consider where God might be calling you to participate. Please feel free to contact me or any of the St. Mark staff with your questions or comments.
Again, we thank you for visiting the St. Mark web page, and we invite you to consider making St. Mark your church home. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Your partner in ministry,
Rev. Chad McKenna
We are offering two worship opportunities both celebrating Holy Communion:
9:00 am. Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary
11:00 am - Blended Worship on the Lawn. Bring your lawn chair or you can stay in your car.
Thank you for your understanding and patience in these matters.
Welcome back to VBS!
Join us July 26-30, 9:00 - Noon for Discovery on Adventure Island, as we discover how God’s light shines on us and how we can reflect that light as we live each day!
Registration is now open for students who have completed K-5th grade, as well as a limited number of preschoolers. Adults and youth 6th grade and up are needed as volunteers. Visit myvbs.org/stmarklc to sign up now!
Note: All students and volunteers will wear face masks, and we will be primarily outdoors. Covid-19 mitigations in Winnebago County are changing rapidly, and St. Mark staff and volunteers will adjust as circumstances dictate, always keeping the health and safety of the children as our top priority. We will keep families up-to-date on our safety measures as VBS week approaches. Contact email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
As of May 30th, you no longer need to register for the 9:00 am service. Though we encourage you to register in advance for the sake of our Sunday volunteers and staff, you also have the option of simply coming to worship on Sunday morning. Ushers will continue to take temperatures and sign in all our worshippers until Illinois has entered Phase 5.
Our 9:00 am in-person service will be live-streamed and able to have 155 worshippers in the Sanctuary.
As has been the case all along, these plans are subject to change. This pandemic has kept us all on our toes, and we will keep you notified if cancelations occur, and when more worship opportunities become available. Stay safe, stay connected, and stay hopeful!
